Launch #24 Recap: Genuka WA Takes First With 10 Upvotes

Launch #24 ran on Builderswave from Monday 19 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, and the final results are in. If you want to know which products people picked as favorites, what each one does and how the numbers compare with the launch before, this recap covers all of it, with links to every product page.
Five products took part in Launch #24: a WhatsApp API for developers, an African football app, a commerce platform for merchants, a free Russian course and a link saver. A small field, and a varied one.
The podium at a glance
| Position | Product | Category | Upvotes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Genuka WA | Developer Tools | 10 |
| 2 | Fandena | SportsTech | 3 |
| 3 | Porsa | E-commerce, Fintech, Productivity | 3 |
Genuka WA finished clearly ahead, with 10 of the launch's 18 upvotes. Fandena and Porsa finished level on 3 upvotes each, with Fandena placed second and Porsa third in the frozen final positions.
Launch #24 by the numbers
Here are the totals for the launch, next to the previous launch:
- Products: 5 (the previous launch also had 5)
- Total upvotes: 18 (the previous launch had 39)
- People who picked favorites: 14 (the previous launch had 34)
- Comments: 1 (the previous launch had 4)
The honest reading: the field was the same size, but fewer people came by to pick favorites this time, and the upvotes followed. With 14 people sharing 18 upvotes, most visitors backed one or two products rather than spreading their support across the whole field.
That makes the gap at the top more meaningful, not less. Genuka WA collected 10 upvotes from a pool of 14 people, which means most of the people who visited the launch found something in it worth backing.
The only country listed in the results was Cameroon, attached to Stash. The other four products did not list a country on their pages.
The podium
1. Genuka WA: the official WhatsApp API, in minutes
Genuka WA is a developer tool for teams that want to connect WhatsApp to their own apps. You create an account, connect your number, then send and receive messages over a REST API and webhooks.
The detail that stands out in its description: Genuka WA carries the Meta Tech Provider license, so the businesses using it do not have to apply for one themselves. For a small team building a product that needs WhatsApp messaging, that removes a step that can otherwise slow a project down.
Who it is for: developers and product teams who want WhatsApp messaging inside their apps without handling the official API setup on their own.
Result: first place, 10 upvotes.
If you are weighing your options for WhatsApp in your own product, our earlier guide, How to Add WhatsApp to Your App as an African Builder, compares six approaches side by side.
2. Fandena: African football in your pocket
Fandena is a SportsTech product for football fans who follow African teams and players. Its tagline, "Le foot africain dans ta poche", translates as "African football in your pocket".
According to its description, Fandena tracks the performance of top African teams and players, with no sports betting at all. It covers competitions such as the CAN (the Africa Cup of Nations), the Champions League and the World Cup, and you can add each match to your calendar and follow updates in real time.
Fandena is built with Python, Flask and PostgreSQL, and its page includes a video along with four screenshots.
The Fandena team also asked the community a direct question during the launch: plenty of football sites give away insights for free alongside betting, so if you had to pay for Fandena, what would you want to get for your money? It was the only product in the launch to receive a comment.
Who it is for: fans of African football who want stats and fixtures without the betting.
Result: second place, 3 upvotes, 1 comment.
3. Porsa: build, ship, sell and get paid
Porsa sits across three categories: E-commerce, Fintech and Productivity. Its tagline sums up the promise: "Build, ship, sell and get paid."
Porsa lets merchants sell online without building and maintaining their own digital platform, and without managing payments, compliance, taxes and logistics on their own. The description also stresses trust on the customer side: Porsa aims to give buyers a commerce infrastructure they can rely on.
Who it is for: merchants who want to sell online without stitching together a store, a payment provider and a delivery setup themselves.
Result: third place, 3 upvotes.
The rest of the field
4. Davai: learn Russian for free, at your own pace
Davai is an Edtech product for French speakers who want to learn Russian. Its tagline reads "Apprends le russe, gratuitement, à ton rythme": learn Russian, for free, at your own pace.
Davai is a free and open source platform with an interactive Cyrillic alphabet, vocabulary built on spaced repetition, progressive grammar lessons, exercises and a gamified progression system with XP, levels, streaks and badges. No account is required to use it. It is built with React and Supabase.
Davai is not new to Builderswave launches: it was on the podium of an earlier launch, covered in our Launch #19 recap.
Result: fourth place, 1 upvote.
5. Stash: save everything, find everything
Stash is a Utilities product listed in Cameroon. Its tagline, "Sauvegarde tout. Retrouve tout", means "Save everything. Find everything."
Stash gathers your Instagram and TikTok links, articles and more in one place, on your phone and in Chrome. It adds collections, reminders and sync to your account, so a link you saved on mobile is there when you open your browser.
Who it is for: anyone who saves links across social apps and the web and then struggles to find them again.
Result: fifth place, 1 upvote.
What Launch #24 tells us
A few patterns stand out from this launch's results.
Developer infrastructure keeps doing well. Genuka WA solves one specific, concrete problem for builders: getting WhatsApp messaging into an app without the licensing step. Products that remove a known blocker for other builders tend to get attention from a community made largely of builders.
A clear, specific promise helps. All three podium products state what they do in one line: an official WhatsApp API in minutes, African football without betting, selling online without managing payments and logistics. Visitors can decide quickly whether a product is for them.
Asking a question invites a conversation. Fandena was the only product to set a question for the community, and the only one to receive a comment. One data point is not a rule, but a sharp question gives visitors an easy way to engage beyond an upvote.
Smaller launches still produce a clear result. With 14 people picking favorites, the field was quiet compared with the previous launch. Even so, the order at the top was decisive, and each of the five products now has a launch page and a permanent place in the directory.
